Re: Nokia RX-51 tablet looks very different from earlier mockup

Mobile-Review.com has a hands on review with over 100 pics http://mobile-review.com/review/nokia-rx51-n900-en.shtml But what I can say for now is that it's the true mobile powerhouse in every sense of this word, that comes wrapped in a very eye-candy and functional UI at that. It won't become a hit...

Re: What do you want from TLLTS year 7

intro at the end not at the beginning? Mention that you have intros for X but dont have 5 minutes of intros?

Touch base with previous guests regarding HW for linux (home automation, HTPC, etc).

The banter is awesome, and please do another windows episode!

Re: Need advice on my proposed setup...

Even the rackmount will be sluggish with all three capture cards in use more then likely. Personally I would look to the wife and see if she will let you build a new machine to handle those duties. A new AMD Phenom or Intel i7/775 machine would be better suited for these duties IMO. I built a mATX P...

http://www.tuxradar.com/content/hands-mint-7 Additional desktops If you're not a fan of Gnome, you can download a community edition tailored to the KDE, Xfce or Fluxbox desktops. However, these are one version behind the main release. i.e. the KDE version is at 6 I guess. Pat and a few others, I kno...

Re: Selling laptops with Windows is a monopolistic practice:PL

The only thing I can say good about a computer already having an os on it is that at least you know everything usually works out of the box. Though I would prefer the os to be an open source one. I generally don't mind manufacturers and stores selling machines with Windows pre-installed, but the fa...

Re: My new Acer Aspire One mini review

I just got to play with the mininote here in the office (a school was looking at usin that in place of a full laptop, declined it because the screensize was too small 8.9")

I am probably going to pick one of them up if HP will post the Linux version on their website instead of the Vista ONLY version.

Re: Dann's blog about linux myths

Maybe it's your motherboard? Have you tried using the alternate installer CD? You may need to disable APCI at the boot prompt. You can always try Debian. Debian will literally install on everything from a paper clip to a super cluster. With the reinstall everything seemed to work fine. The botched ...

Re: Because I am lazy

You can only pull what is in the feed. That is kind of what a feed is for. :) If you're nice you can talk Dann into making a lazy feed that goes back to the beginning of time. You can hit my mirror at http://www.jeffratliff.org/mirror/ to download shows 90 to 159. All the mp3s are in /mirror/TLLTS/...

Because I am lazy

Is there a way to pull all of the shows via the RSS feed going back all the way to the first show or am I relegated to only the 10ish most current and downloading the individual shows prior to that?

We interviewed the developer of zoneminder back in episode 183. We also interviewed the author of the Linux home automation book back in episode 162. Both are worthwhile to listen to.

Re: need a bit of help with some info..

Are you going to run linux on the coffee pot so that you can adjust the amount of caffeine in it? I have been looking into home automation for awhile, with the condo that I am basically buying, I dont need to automate the blinds because no one can see into my condo through the trees and 6 floors up....
