RSS feed for thelinuxlink.net new forum entries
Hi Admins, I have this URL http://www.thelinuxlink.net/forum/generate_feed.php?content=posts&f[]=18 in Google Reader. It used to provide new topic entries for the MythTVcast forum. It was a great way to keep up with the forum. It quit working. Instead of XML it sends PHP code. Any chance of getting ...

MythTV Automatically Checking-in to GetGlue.com
Hi GetGlue is a leading social network for entertainment. Fans use GetGlue apps to check-in while consuming entertainment to share with friends. I thought it would be fun to get MythTV to tell GetGlue what I'm watching. I wrote a Python script that enables MythTV to automatically check-in to GetGlue...

Re: Episode 27 - MythTV 0.24
After running Myth .24 for a little over a week, I will have to say I have found no major problems yet. At first when I would delete a recording then switch to live tv, the frontend would exit to the desktop. But quite a few updates have come down the pipe I have not noticed it doing this lately. S...

Re: Episode 27 - MythTV 0.24
Great episode. Lots of goodness coming to the already great MythTV. Looking forward to experiencing it all. The ability to record in multiple formats really sounds neat but to me finding one format that will play on every device would be the optimal solution. I thought Robert McNamara's comments abo...

Re: Logitech diNovo Mini HTPC Keyboard
Hey mikeh, I like the Logitech diNovo keyboard. I'm still using it with my kitchen MythTV frontend. The CPU is behind the kitchen wall and I can still control it from 10 feet away with the diNovo. Logitech's specs (see 1st link below) claim a range of up to 33 feet. You shouldn't have any issues 15 ...

Re: Episode 26 - GoogleTV
We talked about how Google TV is identified and prevented from viewing some online content from the likes of CBS, HULU, ABC, etc. Big media is interrogating the flash player version. Below is a photo of my Google TV flash player version output from this URL: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.htm...

MediaInfo command
Hi, I demoed MythTV at the Charleston, SC Linux Users Group meeting today. One of the questions was how big are the files. MythTV doesn't show file sizes any where that I can see. You can run ls -l on the recordings directory but that is no fun. So, I combined some MySQL tables with the mediainfo co...

Wake On LAN Video Demonstration
Howdy,
I filmed a demonstration of using Wake on LAN to power 3 MythTV frontends on. It is pretty easy to set-up although I have one box that may have a bug in its BIOS. Sometimes the SSD is not recognized or is mis-recognized. Weird.

HDHomerun firmware released
Hey,
SilconDust released HDHomerun firmeware 20100828. The change log doesn't list anything interesting. I installed the firmware anyway, without issue.

Re: Episode 23 - Dan's plans
Hey, Another great episode guys. I'm playing around with the "secret sauce" using the Myth XML Test web app. Thanks Dan. On my system I created this symbolic link. sudo ln -s /usr/share/doc/mythtv-backend/contrib/development/MythXMLTest /var/www/MythXMLTest I then accessed the app at http://localhos...
