Re: Episode 357 but there is no audio after 22:24
Hmmmm... That would be the case it seems, that mirrors never updated the newer files. I wonder what we can do about that... Send hatemail to gorkon. That would be my department. I just removed the mirror links for that episode. All downloads from tllts.org for that episode will now defer to the loc...

Re: Sound Issues
Technically speaking, there is nobody that does a show the same way we do. Comparing us to ANYONE else who is doing either a live show or a "podcast" is comparing apples to oranges. I remind you we stream live, many times with more than 7 people on at a time, all coming from different places in the ...

Sure would. Have you read it yet? It reads very clear, and apparently, very misleading.hellonorman wrote: I guess it would be better if people would understand the damn "about" page before arguing.

Re: Turd of the Week submissions
Sorry Linc Mint is still based on Ubuntu. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_Mint The first line says, "Linux Mint is an operating system for personal computers, based on (and compatible with) Ubuntu," Also, Check out check out the whats new page and scroll to the end of the page. http://linuxmint....

Re: Turd of the Week submissions
Linc, I had not read that info before. My apologies. I made my statement based on all the bitching on the forums about Mint following Ubuntu's lead. There is even a thread proposing that Mint not be based on Ubuntu but solely on Debian. I am not so sure on what is correct. Please try to get Clem as...

Re: Turd of the Week submissions
Not really a suggestion for a Turd award but, Link was insisting that Linux Mint was based off of Debian. He is incorrect. It is and has been based from Ubuntu. There is a new release two to four weeks following the Ubuntu releases. Funny, there was someone arguing that point with me during the sho...

It's an "other" for me too. I wrote some checkbook software in php about 4 years ago that my wife still likes to use. It does the job!eddie wrote:Which home or business accounting program do you use?

Re: Interesitng article
Maybe this has been circulated on the many news sites but since I've had my head in code at work lately I may have missed it. Yet, I found it a good read: http://insanecoding.blogspot.com/2009/05/will-linux-ever-be-mainstream.html Hooha! Shut your mouth and send your hate email to linc at thelinuxl...

Re: Best way to do remote file access? Server setup question.
Also Linc, Any thoughts on how persistent the dosemu state for each user can be made? By that I mean right now if he is connected to a virtual XP machine running the database app, and his internet connection dies or hiccups for a second and he loses the remote access, once he reconnects the machine...

Re: Best way to do remote file access? Server setup question.
Guys, I have a friend who runs a shipping company. He has 4 separate warehouses. His main office has a file server (its a Windows 2003 server so don't shoot me). Anyway his remote warehouses have 3-4 computers each (XP) that connect to the main office to be able to use the companies DOS (yep DOS) b...

Re: Cobol still lives.
Finding a system that uses Cobol might be like finding the Dead sea scrolls in terms of computer history. You can still run cobol on linux with Opencobol and a c compiler. I work in a shop that has a large mainframe with a ton of stuff running Cobol. A lot of financial shops still run Cobol on thei...

Re: $120 Server Mentioned last night 3/25/09
how much more does Dan need for the server? How much has been raised so far? Dann has ordered one of them already (before he had enough donation $$ for it afaik). My initial goal was for him to get two though, and he is quite close to having enough for the second. A little extra wouldn't hurt thoug...

Re: Bashpodder trouble
Thanks Linc, will use the current one. Alas I wish it were trivial for me to modify the script to automatically change the name of the downloaded file to name_of_file.torrent instead of just the number. I have looked at the old script I'm using and compared it to the the current script on your site...

Re: Bashpodder trouble
Hi guys, enjoy the show and think bashpodder is the shitzen - so light - perfect for my DNS-323 NAS. Sorry to bring up an old thread but I am also having some problems getting bashpodder to download all the enclosures from an RSS feed. Here is the feed URL that I am using, its from mininova, I am t...
