Nook Color = Great android device

Thanks to a quick mention on Pat's blog I investigated the Nook Color using Cyanogen 7. It looked very promising so I had to get one and try it. So far I love it. I rooted it and then installed CM7 nightly (v28 currently). If you want a nice android tablet on the cheap, I recommend it highly. You'll...

Re: MythTV On-Screen Display

Yeah I'm also trying to get it to use a trending topic like twitterfall does, it doesn't seem to be picking them up, but this is fun...
Edit: I just plugged this in and set the sleep to 10 seconds and it is working wonderfully now!

Re: MythTV On-Screen Display

Patrick this is awesome! You need to get this on the mythtv-users. I am using it during the MTV Movie awards, it is currently parsing the #MTVMovieAwards trending topic. So it is showing more than just the few people I follow. I can see so many uses for this - award shows, sports games (very excited...

Re: MythTV On-Screen Display

That looks sweet. I think this would be awesome for "live" events, news events, emergencies. Could you post the scripts? I'd like to kick the tires on it a little bit!

Re: Mythmote Nexus One Demo on YouTube

I also want to plug gmote. I use that to control my browser on my mythbox. It allows you to slide your finger on the android screen to control the mouse, as well as onscreen keyboard. Great for navigating web pages to play missed tv episodes, or browsing. Can be used to control a linux, mac, or pc b...

Re: Verizon launching big anti iPhone campaign for Moto Droid

I have one of these and I absolutely love it. I am going coming from a windows mobile 6.1 phone, so for me it is awesome. I cannot believe how much PC World and CNET have declared an all out slander war against it. Dont listen to them - if you are coming up on your end of contract get it - the Veriz...

Shining example of Mac idiots

Leo Laporte is on Macmania 9 cruise. I'm guessing he'll drop a good $5,000 - $7,000. on this. Along with all the other people that signed up for these in-depth informative seminars. Please check out this page and look at the seminar topics on the right. People are just idiots and will spend so much ...

kde 4.2 beta 2 = Sweet!

Just installed kde 4.2 beta 2 on my kubuntu intrepid. So far, it is beautiful and stable. You can even switch the desktop back to the "old" way instead of a window containing desktop files! Highly recommend you giving it a whirl!

Re: CODEWEAVERS' SOFTWARE FREE FOR DOWNLOAD Tues Oct 28

Dang.. you beat me to it.. They changed the site around to just text with download links. Way back in the day I was a beta tester for him. Was a great product even then, 100x better now. For those of us, because of us work reasons, have to use other products... (OpenOffice is awesome but still not 1...

Re: I have to admit it... Vista makes a nice desktop

Go ahead and try to use Vista for a couple weeks for your everyday computing needs, then post back. You must really be bored to post something like that just to purposefully encourage this thread. You really need a girlfriend or a hobby, are things really that bad? Vista does "look" nice, so does OS...

Sorry to have dump on Apple Allan.... This is a good article on Apple's MobileME and the all the problems it is causing. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/08/05/AR2008080501996.html However, this part is what made me laugh: "...an "Exchange for the rest of us" that would sync...
