Re: looking web hosting

My recommendation goes to WebFaction. My main reason with going with WebFaction is that they provide great Django support.

Re: What GUI toolkits do you favor for your Python applications?

For all my Python apps with a GUI, I have used PyGTK. I mainly chose it because I wanted to use an application to design the GUI interface and I preferred Glade over Qt Designer at that time. I have taken a look at Qt 4 Designer and I like it more than the old Qt Designer so I might have to try PyQt...

Re: Wow things have been quiet around here

It has been quiet around here for a while. I was hoping that there would be another summer study group session but it is too late for that. It is not that big of a deal though. My time has been tied up lately so I might not have been able to participate if anything happened. Lately, I have been gett...

Re: Bashpodder trouble

When I run that script, it grabs the videos twice as well as screenshots and the html pages for each episode. The script grabs all elements from tags with url= in it. Several of the tags, besides enclosure, in the diggnation feed use url= in it. To fix the problem, you need to correct the sed comman...

YouTubed-2x 2007.08.27

It doesn't really matter but I will mention a project that I have been working on for a bit called YouTubed-2x. The app is a YouTube video downloader that will transcode videos to GP2X-compatible avi files. This program was made to replace a broken bash script. The program has both a command line an...

StepMania Unlock Code Generator 0.5 Pre-release

I have finally gotten around to learning Python again. With the little free time that I have had over the past couple of weeks, I have worked on StepMania Unlock Code Generator and now I have released version 0.5. This version is a rewrite of the code and a redesign of the interface. There aren't re...

I really liked last week's episode, especially the discussion about GPL v3. I hope that these few episodes will start the beginning of the #techshow podcast.

I started summer school earlier this week so I will be taking a short two or three week hiatus from the study group to focus on my studies. Hopefully, by that time, I will be able to continue with the study group along with devoting enough time to the work for my classes. In case anyone is wondering...
