Request for this week's show - Software Freedom Day!

I was wondering if you fine folks could throw in a mention of Software Freedom Day in this week's show. There are events scheduled all over the world, including in our local area. I'll certainly return the favor by mentioning the Tech Show if anyone asks about Linux broadcasts/podcasts. (Of course, ...

Re: Why did you guys forget about Maemo/Meego

Sadly, Meego is not really in a usable form for the n810, and Nokia seems to have stopped supporting the older models altogether.
Not only does this reduce my interest in Meego, but it also discourages me from considering Nokia hardware.

Re: Screening of Revolution OS.

The screening went great. We got about 4 dozen people, and raised $101 that has been sent to the FSF and EFF. Thanks to Pat for the plug on TLLTS a few weeks ago. Since this went well, we're probably going to make it a yearly event.

Hotel security did yell at us on Saturday night for being too loud. But we were more well behaved this year than in years past.
Yeah, they put on a nice show up there. Great people, great presentations. Lots of fun.

Re: Ontario Linux Fest and End User Summit.

Have fun and let us know how you like it. Gotta get up there at some point.
Other than BigDaveyL, doesn't look like too many from this area are going. I may have to try to record some of the conferences and do some sort of writeup, give folks an idea of what's going on up there.

I haven't heard from them yet, but if you've been turned down, it doesn't look good for me. :(

Ontario Linux Fest and End User Summit.

Anyone else going to either of these? I was planning on going to Ontario, might have to go to both since the Linux Foundation's event is happening right in my backyard.

Any other Iriver T10 users having problems?

I've been listening to the show on my iRiver T10 for a few years now, but I've run into a problem. Quite a few episodes ago, the podcast stopped playing on my player. They play fine on my Ubuntu box, but not on the player. Unfortunately, it seems that whatever the problem is, seems to be popular. Li...

Re: Should we call out the Apple lovers amongst our ranks?

I have another question. Should we also call out the Windows lovers in our ranks? Is "I only use it for games" an excuse to keep the familiar around? How many Linux users still have that Windows partition on their machines? --murph (Linux, Mac, occasionally Windows, and even occasionally Amiga user.)

How about laptops?

I'm torn as well, I'm looking at laptops, basically deciding between Turion64, and Dual Core. Both are low end, looking for a combination of power/price/battery life.
