Re: Free Software Advocacy Website???
I guess what I want to do is a "bait and switch" or "hide the vegetables in the casserole" :) I subscribe to the four freedoms .... but to the casual user it's a lot to hit them with when all they want to do is use a word processor ..... understanding the four freedoms shouldn't be a prerequisite to...

Re: Free Software Advocacy Website???
greggh, Thanks for the reply ..... I agree with everything on the page .... but to the average casual computer user ... they don't care ... and they never will ... I'd be surprised if they got past the first paragraph before their eyes glossed over. I'm looking for something that puts it in simple t...

Free Software Advocacy Website???
Does anyone one know of a simple website designed for the common man that advocates free software?? FSF.org isn't it .... I'm talking something that would make sense to the casual computer user ... the kind that goes to BestBuy to buy a computer. I've had this idea of printing up a flyer and posting...

WTF?? eBay using Tux as a symbol for Internet fraud???
eBay Australia has a fraud awareness page and a related flash game, both of which feature a depiction of a fraudster as a balding, bespectacled man (not unlike Pat) with Tux, the Linux mascot, prominently displayed on his shirt. I don't get it .... if you support Linux you're a scammer???? http://pa...

I think everyone that supports Linux should buy 100 shares .... once the Linux community has a controlling interest we could vote in a new board and have them direct the CEO to open source what's left. 8) Oh hell ..... why stop there .... for giggles we can have the board appoint Linc CEO. Their sto...

Novell, Microsoft and Unix Patents .....
I'm probably not the first to think of this ..... and forgive me because I'm about 2 weeks behind on all my podcasts.... but Now that the court found that SCOs UNIX claims are really Novell's Intellectual property ... and Novell is in bed with Microsoft .... What kind of interesting possibilities do...

OK ... I see where you're going. What kind of motherboard is it? Older AT type have +/- 12 and +/- 5 ..... you could do that with TWO 12V batteries and two 6 volt batteries ... plus a diode or 5V regulator. ATX gets harder because then you need +/- 3.3V. For ATX you might even be able to get away wi...
