Re: Make it slingbox

I tried out Android SlingPlayer on my friend's SlingBox with my NexusOne. Works great. I like the Android Market 24hr refund policy. I'm deleting the SlingPlayer now.

I use MythTV 0.23 on Ubuntu 10.04.

The VLC streaming is outside of MythTV. It should work with any recording. I haven't played with it much. I just got it working before work this morning.

The Mythbox is pretty close to a MythTV frontend. Let me know what you think.

Re: XBMC Script Mythbox

Man, I'm really torn about this. For the past several years, I've always wanted better mythtv functionality with xbmc. But now, I see that mythtv has improved tremendously and with the addition of arclight and the mythbuntu theme, I had all but left the idea of using xbmc as the front end. Still, I...

XBMC Script Mythbox

XBMC MythTV frontend "Mythbox" RC1 was released yesterday. It honors commercial skipping. This project is coming along nicely. http://code.google.com/p/mythbox/ I installed it. I had to setup NFS from my frontend to the backend recordings directory and add my backend host name to /etc/hosts on the f...

Re: MythTV On-Screen Display

Patrick this is awesome! You need to get this on the mythtv-users. I am using it during the MTV Movie awards, it is currently parsing the #MTVMovieAwards trending topic. So it is showing more than just the few people I follow. I can see so many uses for this - award shows, sports games (very excite...

Re: MythTV On-Screen Display

That looks sweet. I think this would be awesome for "live" events, news events, emergencies. Could you post the scripts? I'd like to kick the tires on it a little bit! Below is a link to my Python script for Microblog MythTV OSD. It is not pretty. I'm a noob Python hacker. It has some hard coded va...

MythTV On-Screen Display

Hi I've been messing around with displaying dents and tweets on the MythTV OSD. It is kinda of interesting to see what others are saying about the event you are watching. This works best with live TV viewing of popular shows or sporting events. Here are some of the use-cases for the On-Screen Displa...

Re: Episode 20 - Upgrades

Hi, I enjoyed episode 20. Thanks for the mention about the HTPCentric Podcast episode Gadget Wisdom Guru and I were on. http://www.geektonic.com/2010/05/mythtv-gets-spotlighted-on-htpcentric.html I performed all fresh installations of Lucid and added Mythbuntu afterwards. I did my backend server fir...

Re: recommended mini itx case with 3.5" hard drive

if anyone finds a deal on some small SSD drives, be sure to post it. i would love to find 8-32GB SSD drive , i would think they would be getting pretty cheap as the new drives are getting much bigger. I've got two of these - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820609330 . They are...

Steps to get Lucid Lynx FE talking to Karmic Koala BE

Hi,

On my Lucid Lynx beta 2 VM I get the message in the screenshot below. What steps will be required to get a Lynx frontend talking to a Koala backend?
