Re: So Many Tablets But Which One?

I just saw this on tech bargains http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/134043/ViewSonic-G-Tablet-101-Android-22/ Is this a good tablet / deal ? The hardware is nice but the customized version of Android they've shipped is pretty much a disaster. The good thing is cyanogenmod is running on it and it...

Re: Recent Changes

Oh, I can see that I was completely off base now. You already had it working and when the updated mysql was installed, the problem started. 5.5.9-1 seems to have been released on the 8th of this month. I'm not the pacman expert yet. How do you keep mysql from updating when you do a sys-upgrade? I'll...

Re: Recent Changes

I know that supposedly there is a database update that is to be selected from the mythtv backend setup. Is that what failed originally? I bet they have a database migration tool to split the old DB format to the newer tables. If not, too bad they don't have a fix which may let you move to the newer ...

I just saw this on tech bargains http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/134043/ViewSonic-G-Tablet-101-Android-22/ Is this a good tablet / deal ? Richard, don't buy this one. The view angle on it is horrible. However, the unit's constant crashing simply updating it's own software was the last straw. ...

Re: Recent Changes

Wow, what a fix! Was this posted as a solution on one of the forum boards or did you sum up the problem on your own?

Re: Recent Changes

Yes, skipping. I don't mean speeding up playback. I use Hauppauge HVR-2250 for the tuner.. WNBC is 1080i but mythfrontend doesn't hang with those recordings. Sometimes recordings from WABC (720p) hang sometimes not. I only record OTA. I don't use cable, satellite, or FIOS TV. Interesting. I'll be s...

Re: Recent Changes

Whoa. That's strange. OTA 1080i recording? Which tuner do you use? You say FF. Do you mean skip forward and back?

Re: Recent Changes

I most likely will go this route as I have a spare drive. I'm just not to trusting of migrating the DB. So, your suggestion is the least risk as I can always make the old drive the first boot again if the new install fails. Thankfully the media is all on a separate raid. So, just downtime is the rea...

Re: Recent Changes

Thanks! I'll probably focus on the backup questions first. I've been itching to change to arch for my backend but have always been afraid of loosing my recordings history. Everyone talks about the fragility of the db. Thus, I've never attempted anything so bold as a reinstall. I have stuck with ubun...

Re: MythTV on Amahi Server

I have Arch on one PC and one netbook. I'm really surprised at how much I like it. The next time I rebuild my mythsystems, I'll probably give Arch the nod for the distro. I hear really good things about the new redhat but have not tried it yet nor the new mintdebian 64. I'd really like to try them. ...

Re: An article on windows media center

I fairly understood you up to this point: I know that live get busy myself included. But if you want attention get in front of me. But the last line has got me scratching my head. :?: I'll give you that MCE is more popular but the htpc podcasts must have mentioned GBPVR at least a little. Anyhow, ba...
