VDPAU does offload HD & SD MPEG2 recordings. So there is a benefit to running it even if you're doing just standard definition.

Can VDPAU be utilized with analog cable or just HD signals? I still have analog cable here and notice a huge difference with CPU load. If it can, how do I enable it for the analog signal?
