Mythmote Nexus One Demo on YouTube

Post by pla » Fri Feb 19, 2010 8:10 am

Hey

Mythmote is an application for the Google Nexus One phone. You use it as a remote for your MythTV frontends. Works good and is free.

I published a demo of the Nexus One Mythmote app on YouTube.

Pat,
Nicely done. How about a second video showing how to set it up? If you agree we could could add both your videos to our showmedo page:

I think people would like it.

I also want to plug gmote. I use that to control my browser on my mythbox. It allows you to slide your finger on the android screen to control the mouse, as well as onscreen keyboard. Great for navigating web pages to play missed tv episodes, or browsing. Can be used to control a linux, mac, or pc box.

@elgordo123

I just installed gmote. I'm going to use it for a few days and maybe create a video about it over the weekend. The Gmote Touch function is freaky cool. Thanks for the tip.

WOW! I don't know what else to say... That is an amazing app. I was surprised out how responsive it was, I thought there would be a delay between the button press and response. There did not appear to be a delay.

Great videos too. The quality was really good. I love how you staged the mythmote in front of the TV so we could see the press and action at the same time; very nice!

Totally agree, it's a sweet application. I spoke to the developer of the app and he will definitely be on in a future episode.

Any chance of you showing us how easy/hard it is to install on your myth machine?
