powerline ethernet connection

Post by lobosolo » Wed Apr 14, 2010 8:30 pm

hey guys, i was in the same boat as Dan in that i didn't want to run Ethernet around the house. I had been using a wireless G (tomato firmware) router as a bridge to my mythBox in the living room. but could not watch shows in my other computers.

well problem solved, i got this

on sale at new egg. now i have streaming hi-def shows to my computer room to the living room...

the next rainy weekend, i plan to stay inside and switch my frontend/backend machine into my computer room and replace it with my ION frontend box in the living room.

so anyone else in this position, i can recommend this product , however YMMV depending on your houses wiring.

I had a good experience with an powerline Ethernet adapter too. They are good for hard to reach areas in your house.

Will they work through surge protector powerstrips?
