Can MythTV be IP only platform for watching TV?

I've been pondering breaking away from cable/dish/etc. for a while and I think I finally have the hardware to get this done. I currently have DishNetwork but our family really only watches a handful of channels. I would like to know of the possibility of going all IP based viewing of TV. The advent of Netflix and Hulu is really helping this along. Also Youtube is an option. I see MythNetVision as the glue to make this really work. My biggest issue is that I like to watch live sports. If you shell out a bunch of subscriptions to online content this may be the way to do it. EPSN3.com is available and I've been able to watch it on my Ubuntu desktop. I have an antenna so I can get the local feeds of national programming no problem.

Has anyone pondered cutting the cable/dish wire and going IP only with MythTV for TV content? I would love to hear thoughts on this?

Pros
- Get rid of fixed monthly rate of unused channels
- A la carte programming
- Keep DVR functionality
- Customizable

Cons
- Not every channel available online
- IP content providers are starting to develop subscription pricing
- Maintenance? Is MythNetVision the cure?

I almost went over the air and web last year. For cost savings the HD over the air can't be beat and you will still get a lot of sports.

I love ota tv and feed it in right to the mythbox. (mine is not the latest version though). I made an cheap antenna to go with it. Despite the contrary, you do not need a special antenna for ota tv. http://www.instructables.com/id/Yet-another-dtv-antenna. Nice to be able to watch tv when comcrap is not working.
