Use code EMCYXZR75 to lower the price to $159.99 and get free shipping.

It's a bare bones unit so you will need a stick of ram and a 2.5 inch hd.

This is a good mythfrontend.

Unfortunately the sale ends about 8 hours from this post.

Over and out...

You actually got this thing to work with MythTV? I ended up returning mine because it wouldn't show live TV without crashing.

How much ram did you use?

I've got two 330 ion based systems running myth just fine.
I know of at least two others who got this very unit running with myth without issues.

May it have been another issue?

I am interested in any ion systems working with mythtv. I have a asrock ion 330 with 4gb ram a 64 gb ssd blu-ray drive and external drives. My tuners are 2 hdhomeruns and a hdpvr 1212 and I have comcast digital. I can get video to work with mythbuntu 10.10 but no sound through hdmi or sdif. I tried linhes and got video and the sound was running in slow motion. It was as if it lagged more that it was slowed down. If I can't get this ion to get sound through hdmi I will have to set something else up perhaps an i3 setup. I currently have windows 7 running on the asrock and it does the job fine it records plays live tv and does everything I throw at it but its a microsoft program and I want linux. I do have an old p4 running mythbuntu 10.10 32 bit and I access the mythweb on my ion box. I also have a hp quad running win 7 with 3 internal tuners that I access through my ion box over the homenetwork.

I tried with 2Gig and with 4Gig of RAM. I had the 2Gig, and during the process of trying to get this thing to work without locking up, I upgraded to 4Gig. I also tried Network booting, and then later on got a SSD drive. I tried both Mythbuntu and LinHES(which had to be modified for the network drivers). The thing would not play any videos without locking up. At the time the site where it was being installed was my bedroom which only had a 28" monitor (no built in tuner), so it was a big deal if the LiveTV froze. Eventually I gave in and replaced the monitor with a 28" with tuner built in. My problems with the Foxconn device were not alone. There were numerous reports and threads with the same issues. Foxconn blamed the NVidia drivers. Their cut down linux install did not have any way to install MythTV. I posted several requests for help to the Mythtv-Users list, and got no response until after I had returned them, and had let loose some of my frustrations. And then it was only what I should have done in order to get a response, which would have been nice to get sooner.

Yes I have another device in a bigger box running the single core version, and other dual core machines work. I'm just saying that I was not able to get this particular device to work, and was suprised that somebody did.

Fair enough. Thanks for the detail and sorry that it did not work out.
