how do install a frontend on an existing mythbuntu 10.4 box

do i just need to go into the software repo and enable mythtv frontend , i did that and it loaded a lot of the dependencies.
i rebooted launched mythtv and it seems to work, except when i go to watch a recording, it just sits at the "please wait" screen and never loads. is there anything else i need to enable ?
