mythtv distro

Post by scottss » Mon Mar 21, 2011 3:35 pm

Ok I am ready to try to install mythtv on my asrock ion box again. I have installed it in the past in various distros but none that worked properly. My problem in the past has been hdmi sound. I can get hdmi video but sound doesn't work. I have tried mythbuntu 10.10 mythdora the latest version and linhes which I did get sound but it lagged bad. My system is an asrock ion 330 ht it has a 1.6 dual proc. with 4 gig of ram a 64 gig ssd, an exteral wd 1.5 tb drive, two hdhomeruns and a hdpvr. I have comcast digital. I run the whole system through a denon reciver to a sony bravia tv. Also I would like a step by step of how to setup for external storage.
thanks :|

To get sound working via hdmi on my Zotac Ion frontend I had to manually create a ‘/etc/asound.conf’ file.

You may want to search around to see if others have had a similar issue with your specific hardware.

Are any mthtv users out there utilizing audio via HDMI? I had some trouble with this recently on an NVIDIA chipset.

Yup. I've got two atom front ends doing this all the time.
