samorost - fun little game

Not at all linux related, but I spent about an hour playing part 2 with my kid last night, and he loved it. Fun interactive time sink. Flash based - zealots beware.

On a side note, anyone have recommendations for games easy enough that 3-4 year olds can "play" them? My kid has been plaing Mania Drive and Blobwars (in god mode, of course) a lot recently, and while he's not finishing levels or anything, he's learning the basic keyboard controls. He outgrew the non-spelling/math portions of Childsplay in about a week, but it taught him mousing.

They have some fun little games to play, like:
Sonic the Hedgehog
Need For Madness (a really fun racing/smashup game - my favorite)
Prince of Persia
Acro Bowling
Tubin'
and a few others.

They're all played on-line via your web browser with Java and Flash installed.

did you buy the full versions of samarost? I'm wondering how they are and how they are delivered. Is it just a code you get or do you actually download and application?

As far as I know, there is only a "full" version of the second one, and what you get is 5 more levels - each screen is a level. The levels are a lot harder (or at least I had a much harder time with them) but they are about the same, funwise. They email you a link to download a zipfile from, and what you get is a folder with the entire game in swf inside. It plays great with the beta flash player. My 3 yo won't stop asking to play "the rocket game" now - it's definitely a good "family fun" kind of game (unless you think farting manatee-like creatures is a bad thing, that is - my son couldn't stop laughing though).

In any case, I had a lot of fun with my son playing that game on saturday morning with some home roasted coffee (he had hot chocolate) and home made raisin toast - it was easily worth the $6.95 to me, if for nothing more than the memories.
