May the Wii be with you...

Post by Judland » Mon Jun 04, 2007 3:43 pm

I was reading this article about the Nintendo Wii and almost fell out of my chair when I came to this quote:
The head of the LucasArts, the game division for "Star Wars" series creator George Lucas, told AFP a Wii game that lets players wield virtual light sabers is on the horizon.
That is going to be freakin' Awesome when it comes out! I've also read rumors about Star Wars Lego video games will soon be ported to the Wii, as well.

lol
The wii has really shined over sony as far as innovation goes.
Sure the ps3 has the raw power and traditional play but i think its cool that Nintendo have gone a different direction.

I'm glad Nintendo chose this path, too. It is certainly brining more people back to video gaming.

I used to enjoy video games very much in my youth... played on my C64 and Intellivision. But the modern gaming system never really appealed to me. I found the games too complicated and too "serious" (if I can call it that).

However, the Wii has been fantastic. So much so, that my wife (who had no real interest in video games before) even enjoys playing.

Yesterday we bought Mario Party 8 and we played for three straight hours after dinner last night. It was, and is, a lot of fun.

Our next game purchase will probably be Elebits. We rented it last week and my wife really enjoyed playing it. I did too.

It's great not being the only gamer in the house these days. :D

I recently got a wii, and so far the sports games that come with it are great, we did buy the Rapala fishing game, and my girlfriend was going to play it with me but she just laughed at how dumb I looked fishing from the couch! I was never interested in any gaming stuff since the original nintendo. So I guess it is natural for me to just jump on the wii bandwagon. I heard guitar hero will be ported for the wii as well, or maybe it is already I am not sure.

That's one of the things I like about the Wii. How can you have fun if you can't have a laugh from time to time? It doesn't take itself too seriously, which makes it very approachable.
