Here's an example about what kills me with multiple printers in OS X. My boss really really wants to have an easy way to print to letterhead. Apple has a "preset" feature that remembers print settings, but the "preset" feature doesn't remember what printer a preset applies to, so users end up using the "Letterhead" preset with a printer that doesn't have letterhead paper in it, and they're rightly confused. Why should they have to select the preset and select the printer, too (good luck getting users to do that).

Now, in the Adobe Creative Suite, that problem is licked, but that's because they use their own printing dialogs. I haven't found any other program that can simply remember "this preset goes with this specific printer." Incredibly annoying, in that it's close to what I need, but completely and utterly useless because it's incomplete. Same thing goes for the database software, Filemaker Pro. Because of this problem, I can't really automate printing, because Filemaker will NOT remember to switch to a specific printer before printing.
