In seeing this article, I wonder why the GNU/Linux community hasn't stepped up to do something like this. I'm thinking maybe some of the regional LUGs with possible help from commercial developers in the open source community. This way it would show people another alternative that would give them similar (or better) features they might expect with OS X, all the while respecting their freedoms in speech and beer without them breaking the bank on another computer.
Thoughts?
