Anyone recommend a good softphone to use with asterisk?
About to install Asterisk and wondered if anyone could recommend a good softphone so I could make and receive calls at my desk.
Cheers

It would of helped if he had continually spoke into his microphone. You can hear Allan reminding him more than once.kernoman wrote:P.s levels on last weeks show were too low i could hardly hear Dan

Use asterisk@home for your distribution. That's what I use and it's fantastic and for a soft phone grab xten-xlite.kernoman wrote:About to install Asterisk and wondered if anyone could recommend a good softphone so I could make and receive calls at my desk.

I've been using xten for a while now and it works real well. I've recently downloaded kiax and want to give it a good whirl:Linc wrote: ... and for a soft phone grab xten-xlite.
http://kiax.sourceforge.net/
It uses the IAX which is the native Asterisk audio codec. Supposedly it's better than SIP.
