excellent - I have done the same for my uncle and has been happy as a clam.So, I say "bah" to those people who say Linux isn't ready for the "average" user. I've got a below average user using it just fine and enjoying every minute of it.
It is all fud - linux is ready for the desktop and anybody who says it isn't doesn't know what they are talking about.
It's ready - it just doesn't have a billion dollar marketing department and politicians, cio's in it's pocket.
