Frappr map going away?

Post by scottmace » Mon Dec 14, 2009 3:13 am

Hey TLLTS folks,

Maybe you're already aware that the Frappr map will be going away as of 12/31/09? :( See the post by the Frappr folks here:

http://platial.typepad.com/news/2009/12 ... rappr.html

There's a way to create a new free Frappr map, but no way to migrate an existing Frappr map to the new free map.

Anyway maybe one of your listeners can figure out a workaround.

They allow you to extract out a static map. If you want to move to another live map they'll charge for it. Personally I don't care about it. Maybe the other guys do. I'll mention it to them.

It's worse than that. The charge isn't one-time only; it's an annual fee. Blecch!

So, since Frappr is going away, has any thought been given to switching to FapMapper? The name sounds somewhat similar.
