There are plenty of devices currently running linux. The issue I found with this things it the actual marketing.

If you look at the linuxdevices website there have been a lot of linux devices for a while now. From PDA, to tablets, to cell phones to webpads. Unfortunately the marketing has been rally bad since this products dont ever make them ot the US or even if they do they are poorly marketed.

I used to have a cybiko devices, this wasnt linux it was actually crappy but it was really well marketd. The product was on MTV earn some awards as kid most have and have a good idea on how to progam on something that is not a computer.

Learn C and create your own game and use RF to do wireless programming. Not that bad if you are targeting a a 16yrr old kid.

This can also happen for linux however the marketing has been seriously lacking.

That will change soon. Soon most cell phones will run linux as will most PDAs. Linux is selling wonderfully with the Linksys WRT45G (the most popular wireless router running linux) and TiVo (if you don't know what TiVo is you don't know what TV is)
