Perchance some of you may watch CBS, specificly the CSI shows. Last few shows they had a tie-in online with video of an extended ending for CSI Miami (this week) and I think CSI NY last week.
The videos are in flash which is a more portable format; although still closed. Most OS's have a flash player. Well Linux PPC does not; except for the GLP flash player which, while good, cannot play flash 7 format.
At least they did not go with WMV or quicktime format.
Still, while the content is relevant to the show; it is a thinly veiled Hummer commercial.
Props, I don't know yet.

Yeah I have to use mozilla-bin to open up anything in flash since Im on a AMD64 system and Macromedia only provides the x86 binary. Hopefully gplflash2 will be completed soon.

Dude, AMD64 handles 32-bit code just as good as 64-bit, that is it's huge advantage. Why do you think you can run a 32-bit Windows on the thing?CptnObvious999 wrote:Yeah I have to use mozilla-bin to open up anything in flash since Im on a AMD64 system and Macromedia only provides the x86 binary. Linux is not a bitch about having 32-bit and 64-bit apps installed, like Windows is.

Really? Have you actually tried? Can you use an extentions from addons.mozilla.org ? AFAIK the Flash plugin is just sort of a Mozilla extention, to me that makes Mozilla kind of an API, but I'm not gonna play wise-ass, because I don't, yet, have an AMD64 machine myself, I want a dual Opteron system for christmas!CptnObvious999 wrote:I know it can however you cant use a 32bit flash binary with a 64bit compiled firefox which is why I have to use a 32bit mozilla binary and 32bit flash binary. (Note: It wouldn't work with a 32bit firefox binary for some reason)

Yup I know it doesn't work otherwise flash would have shown up with firefox (what I use mostly). It should work with the firefox binary but for some reason it doesn't. Im going to wait for a 1.5 binary to be released and see if it works then. If you arn't using a sourced based distro or a AMD64 only distro (unlikely, there are very few amd64 only) you don't have to worry about it since it will run like a 32bit system but I want to use 64 to its full potential so I use a source based distro (Gentoo)
