The Free60 Has Started!

Post by Tsuroerusu » Fri Nov 25, 2005 6:56 pm

Now that the Xbox 360 has been released, the guys that brought Linux to the Xbox has begun the long task of putting Linux on the Xbox 360.
You can check the project out at free60.org

I look forward to see Bill and Ballmer's faces turn red when Linux runs on the Xbox 360

I don't see why that is stopping Linux from running on the thing in the end.

Dude, Linux was ported to the PPC architecture over 8 years ago, so I think it only needs a few drivers and stuff to run.

Also the original Xbox was cracked in a month, Bunnie did in one freaking week (Kudos to Bunnie), also Michael Robertson laid down money to the person who could get Linux running on it, maybe he'll do it again, who knows?

"100,00 to person who gets Linspire running on the Xbox 360", nah who needs freaking Linspire when you got Debian and SUSE.

...because that's how much horsepower you need to run a distro as bloated as lindows... er, linspire: a tri-core cpu. :?

One of my many complainst about Linspire, is that it's shipped very very minimal, to me it just doesn't with enough stuff, and the fact you have to pay to get maybe Evolution or stuff like that, really pisses me off, the thing I really like about SUSE is that it comes with everything you're gonna need without giving you that much you don't need, of course I always install a few more media players and stuff like that because I need them
