Did you ever try out the Arch 7.1 installer? I think I'm just about ready to move my main workstation over to Arch, but I'd be interested in a better installer so I cold avoid blowing away my /home if at all possible. I'm not at all into some of the defaults that Underground Desktop provides, and I'm not entirely sure I want anything besides vanilla arch in any event.

Just thought I'd see if you'd tried it -- let me know if you read this please.

I have not tried the Arch 7.1 installer. Wish I could help you out there.

With UD, however, you choose the partition in which it installs everything. It doesn't take control over the entire disk, as Arch does. So, if you have /home on a separate partition, you should be able to install UD as usual, then after the install, change fstab to redirect /home to the proper partition. I haven't tried this method myself, but I think this is all you'd have to do.

Is there anyone with more knowledge on this subject that can confirm my theory?
