Slackware on the Xbox

This was just an idea that I thought of today, I love hackin' around with Xbox'es, and especially installing Linux on them (It's a pride to blow away the FATX crap and Microsoft Flash ROM code). So I sat down this morning and thought "This Gentoo stuff is just starting to get irritating, what other distros could I run?" and then it hit me, Slackware uses pretty much all vanilla software, so the only thing that I would actually have to do is just install the thing onto the Xbox drive and compile an Xbox kernel from a PC and stick the drive back in the box and boot it up.

What do you think folks? Slackware on the Xbox?

Give it a try. Just so you know, there is a version of Debian for the Xbox called Xebian. Worth a try if Slackware doesn't work out. Good luck.

Yep, I know about Xebian, has been using it in the past, but I really don't like. Too bulky, and not customizeable enough, for example the installer doesn't allow you to manually partition the drive, which I love to do, long live fdisk, and format it to the file systems I want........ for a long time I've been using Gentoo on the Xbox, they have an official port for it, which works great once it's installed, but I really want to get to know Slackware, and I think hackin' to get it to work on the Xbox, which actually is very easy you just need to do the install to the drive on a PC and compile an Xbox kernel for it.
