How Many Processes Do You Have Running?

Post by Chess » Thu Jan 19, 2006 9:45 pm

Ok, I saw a thread like this on LinuxQuestions I believe and it was pretty interesting so I thought I'd start one here.

The idea is to list the number of processes you have running after a fresh boot into your desktop environment of choice. Whatever your standard, initial login desktop is like. Just open up a console and type "top" and check out the number of processes ("tasks") listed. Then, so we can compare, list your distro, kernel version, and desktop environment.

I'll start...

49 processes
Slackware 10.2
Kernel 2.6.14
Fluxbox
