Made a little progress today.
One of my goals was to use a distro that could use Klik, as being able to carry your favorite apps on your USB device would be a definate plus.
I also wanted a pretty robust distro. that could run on most hardware set-ups.
Today I'm happy to say that I got Klik running hansomly on Slackware.
Two hurdles taken care of.

I have to say again that I'm amazed at how well Slackpkg updates a Slackware install.
After installing Slackware on another PC last night, I did an upgrade of it (from 10.2 to current) this morning. Slackpkg upgraded the kernel, KDE, Xorg and then Lilo without a hitch.
That's the kind of package management I've been looking for.

Yes, I use slackpkg and love it. You'll be able to use it to upgrade to Slackware 11 when it comes out -- just be sure to blacklist aaa_base and aaa_elflibs before you do so. Pat V. will provide a README to explain the upgrade process. It's quite easy.
As long as I paid attention to the changelog, slackpkg has never failed me. No tool will negate my occasional dumb decisions to upgrade something without understanding the ramifications.
