I am so sick of microsoft and them throwing their weight around against governments - I hope they fine them till their dead and gone.

If I ever met gates/ballmer in person I would just love to give them a piece of my mind.

They really think they are untouchable.

Yeah no kidding, Microsoft are a bunch of biotches, what the EU is basically telling them the hard way is "You wanna do business here, you obey the rules here, end of discussion!!", they've even moaned about this to an american court so refused to force Novell to reveal documents related to this case, Microsoft are a bunch oif whiners 'ey

You have to hand it to them though, they really know how to play the game and have become powerful enough to make their own rules. I'm not saying it's right, though, but I guess if I were at top I'd do whatever it takes to stay there. Err, wait, if I made it to the top I'd hope I would do so without dispicable business practices, but maybe that is why I am not on top. And if I was not concerned with how I conducted business to get to the top, what would I care so long as I remained there.

Since none of us are at the top, I doubt we really know what we would do, but heck that's what life is all about isn't it?

Anyway, I'm actually quite confident towards the fact that the EU throws the book in Steve Balmer's fat face, because the EUC is pretty darn pissed off at Microsoft for trying to sneak around and do all kinds of crappy stuff to kind of keep their halos clean. I'm hearing that the EUC is already looking into Microsoft's Windows Vista stuff, I'm telling ya, if the EUC throws the book at Microsoft, it's gonna mean massive problems for Vista, because if management weren't defocused enough, what would an overhoul of a lot of features, yet again, do?

In Novell's case with SLED 10, they have shown what I would consider very trustworthy demos of the thing actually working, and they will have a public preview out during June or July if I remember correctly.
