Hey all, In the lost episode one of the interviewees mentined starting a Linux marketing campaign. Ubuntu, Canocal in particular, kind of beat him to it. Checkout http://www.go-opensource.org/ They have made 13 half-hour episodes that splain FOSS to the non-technical user. I DLed them via Bittorrent, and am impressed with the quality of these infomercials.
This is one of the reasons why Ubuntu and Mark Shuttlesworth rock.

Yeah I saw that a while ago. Pretty cool stuff. Are they ever going to do any more episodes? IIRC there hasn't been a new volume in at least a year.
What we really need is for someone to create a really awesome ad like something a little bit smaller than Project Orange and then we could have donations to try and get it on TV. I think this would be the best way to start reaching out to people at this point in the game. The only problem is that the Linux community is divided (mostly by distros) and what we really need is to get them to go to a linux marketing site. I might be interested in making one although I havn't had the time to think that hard about it yet. What the site would do is tell what Linux is, what FLOSS is all about, and explain about different distros and probly have a quiz to select which one. After that is setup I would have the ad project hosted there.
