TLLTS Meetup: Ohio Linuxfest Sept. 29th at 6pm at Barley's

Post by gorkon » Wed Sep 06, 2006 9:43 pm

The vote has been decided everyone. The Meetup will be at Barley's Ale House No. 1 at 6pm on Friday Sept. 29th. This gets us a hour of happy hour:

3 Dollar Draughts and Bottles
5 dollar appetizers

There's no organized space but I will be with the guys when we get the table. I'll let the greeter know to try and sit tech show fans as as close as they can. If you will, let me know if your coming so I can get some sort of headcount.

Website is:
http://www.barleysbrewing.com/enews1/

Located at 467 N. High Street right across from the convention center.

Good food, good friends and good brew. A great time will be had by all...don't miss it!

Agreed man. Just noticed that Chris DiBona is going to be at the Linuxfest. That should be fun.

It's funny you mention him. I invited him and Jeff Waugh as well. Whether or not they show up is another story.

The Ohio Linuxfest is definitely shaping up into an awesome event. I see Ted Haeger might be doing a talk as well. This might turn into a yearly event for us since LWE will no longer be happening on the east coast. I have to admit I starting to get really excited about going.

It does sound like it will be great. The scheduled talks look good, but the thing that has me psyched is the enthusiasm I'm seeing from the real Linux geeks I know.

And I will try to make it to Barley's.

I think I can make it out there ... After reviewing the website, I see that its only on saturday. Thats good and bad. Bad that its only one day o'fun. Good cuz I only have one day to take off (Thrusday night). So it looks like I can return sometime sunday and still make it in that night! Woot!

Then on the financial front, I got OT all weekend! So neither time nor money is an issue ....

I'd like to see a wrestling match between Dann and Ted, I think that would be quite interesting.

I know Aaron Newcomb will be in attendance. I wonder if he's bringing a video camera along to tape segments for future episodes? Maybe we can convince him to film on Friday. This could get ugly.
