Well, you've said several times that yum downloads all the headers every run when it hasn't done that since about Core 2. I've forgiven you, though, and am getting on with my life.Patrick wrote:Agreed. He doesn't have to like the show. Just like the content is our opinion, the review is his opinion. Like you, my only bone of contention is the "they get their facts wrong". What is he talking about? For the most part we're pretty accurate about the technical stuff.

Yum is ass slow out of the box. Is that not the truth? I guess it's a good thing you weren't there when we were talking with the Fedora guys. Guess what we told them? I'm sure that it wasn't the first time they heard complaints regarding yum. They were very nice and even lent us a Sharpie pen.Gomer_X wrote:Well, you've said several times that yum downloads all the headers every run when it hasn't done that since about Core 2.

Yeah, when I talked to them the first thing out of their mouths was that yum would be faster in FC 6. I agree it's slow, it just doesn't bother me.Patrick wrote:Yum is ass slow out of the box. I'm trying to figure out who the thinner bald guy was who showed up later in the day because I didn't get to meet him. Any ideas?
I was a bit annoyed that the Fedora guys were more interested in selling stickers than talking to me, but I don't think the guy I was talking to was one of their top tech people.
