Has anyone had problem where while running the Folding @ Home client after a few days the machine locks up? About every 3-5 days my machine locks up I reboot it and it goes bak to normal?

No, maybe your cpu is getting too hot.

Yeah, sounds like a cooling issue.

My main Folding machine is a 1.8 GHz Pentium 4 that runs 24/7, and I haven't experienced any problems. In fact, my CPU has been at a constant 100% load for 29 days now, since the day I installed Debian Etch.

When I first started folding a few months ago, the TeamTLLTS was at position 1141

Now we're at 508 (as of June 23rd) Soon we'll be in the top 500! How cool is that!

I like checking this site http://kakaostats.com/t.php?t=68208

It tells you about points gained for each member and for the Team as a whole. Also tells you where you/we will be in 7 days and 30 days from now. For example, the team will be at 481st position in 30 days

When I started, no one had broken through 100,000 points, and now the top 7 are all over 100k.

The dark horse is Linc! All of a sudden he's running a server farm in his basement and has nearly broken through the 1/2 mil mark.

I got a little carried away when I got into folding, its been quite addictive! I had a Core2Duo overclocked to 3ghz. Don't tell my wife, but I upgraded to a Core2Quad, also overclocked to 3ghz, so its crunching away twice as fast!

I do feel like Tim Allen in Home Improvement though, grunting away and calling out for "More Power!"

I was wondering when/if anyone was going to catch on to the fact that I went from 13th place to 2nd in 2 weeks.. :-)
It's an interesting story to tell, but one I maybe should save for the show.... Unless you guys gang up on me and demand it here and now :-)

Since I missed talking about it on the last show..:

I couple weeks ago I was having my yearly review at work when the director was talking to me about my continuing technical support of our Linux Research cluster. He mentioned that it was quite an underutilized resource and I jokingly said that I keep threatening to install folding at home on it to get some use out of the thing, and he looks at me and says "Well, why not?". The rest is history ;-)
