i think the best distro out there is mandiva, is far more friendly than ubuntu, suse, and need less configuration, possibly because of its maturity.

I chose Fedora since that is my primary os. Although, I do use OpenBSD, FC is my primary on all machines (sans the Macbook).

Right now I'm running MCNLive, based on Mandriva. Very impressive.

Hmmm, yeah that might be something to take a look at, but it's not in the mainline kernel, which results in less testing and no integration into the distros.

Just because its not in the mainline or vanilla stock kernel does not mean its awfull, Selinux, AppArmor,grsecurity are not in the mainline kernel and are used by some distro notably gentoo and fedora.
