Vista to make dual booting difficult

Not surpring. M$ wants you to use their product and their product only. It seems virtualization is the easiest way around this if you "have to run" windows in some capacity.

The title seems pretty misleading. Vista will supposedly have disk encryption that keeps you from reading Windows data from Linux. That's the same as it is now. The kernel will not by default read and write NTFS partitions. No news here.
It certainly doesn't make it hard to dual boot. It just makes it hard to share data.
The puzzling thing is the article states Vista will include "hardware-based encryption." How can an OS include hardware based disk encryption? Even so, what's to keep someone from turning it off?
