From all i can read (been researching for abour 4 hours now) this config file is right, yet not working for me.

I updated my Myth box with knopmyth (wasusing an older version of knopmyth). I had it set for TV-out only as it 'worked' and i never messed with it, but did find it annouying i couldnt attached a monitor to do anything with it.

So this time i decided to try and get a clone view working

I have tried commenting and unommmenting different parts under the "Device" section

Man, I managed to do this ages ago, but I didn't have MythTV, so I didn't bother leaving it up and working. One thing I didn't use was a "Clone" setup, you might try "RightOf" just to see if that works for the orientation. Do you have both monitors turned on when you start up X? Well, I'm always raving about Gentoo's documentation, let's see if it helps you out at all:

That was the place I went to when I started to set my computer up to use dualscreen. I can go digging through my backups to see if I can find anything for you, but don't hold your breath on that one. I set the thing up to use the TV for one day, then never did it again.

Yeah I agree, Gentoo documentation is the best of any distro; the best part about Gentoo :P i ran it for a few months.

But I did find that page on my 5 hours of searching last night. Its the same as my config file posted. All info I find says I should use the settings I am using. Thats the frustrating part :evil:

Knopmyth comes XF86 still, so may be there's a "gotcha" somewhere there.

I think I will post on the Unofficial Nvidia forums.

Sorry man, I'm looking at that config, and I'm not noticing anything that stands out. I haven't use XF86 for what seems like a year, so that may be part of the problem. I just managed to get modular Xorg working on an old iMac at work, so XF86 feels practically antiquated to me now. Good luck, I'm sure if you keep banging your head against it you'll finally get it up and running.

Well I ended up conceding a small defeat and just enabled to TV-only setting. But now its just plain annouying me that I couldnt get it set up.

Just for the sake of it I want to know how to do it in case I need to do it for someone [or myself] at a later date. Plus, I am not one to give up and be defeated by a machine :twisted:

Perhaps its a limitation by the card I was trying it with, a GF4 MX4000. I will have a play with my 6600GT in my PC and see what i get.
