does anybody know if suse on ppc has flash and java plugins for browsing?

I was just wondering since they have for the amd64 platform.

Last time I checked there was no flash for ppc linux, period.

There is no Flash plugins (Except for development snapshots of Gnash) nor Sun Java (Except for the GNU Classpath and GCJ stuff) available for PPC Linux at the moment.

SUSE doesn't have any 64-bit Flash plugin, what they do, and I think this is pretty smart, is that they install 32-bit versions of programs in a few cases where it makes sense, for example if you install the 64-bit version of SUSE Linux, you will get a 32-bit version of Firefox, and that way you won't have any issues with plugins not working because they are not available as a 64-bit binary. And I don't think it matters having Firefox as a 32-bit binary, because how much faster do you actually read a page? I think you can speed up your browsing by getting a faster internet connection than using a 64-bit Firefox.

Also, things such as OpenOffice won't even run as a 64-bit binary, you're forced to use that as a 32-bit binary, again I don't see it as a problem at all, because Linux is very good at running 32-bit programs on a 64-bit system, unlike certain other operating systems, and how much faster can you type in 64-bit mode?

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't, you just grab the sources and compile it, since it doesn't depend on any sort of proprietary code, it could in theory even be used on UltraSPARC machines!
