I'll probably be taking a new job three hours away and only commuting back home for the weekends. I'd like a good pair webcams for linux (SUSE) so I may communicate with my young son.
I'd really like a quality cam on his end so I might see the pictures he draws and help him with his homework.
Does anyone have any suggustions?
thanks,
granduke
What I chose.

I recently purchased the
Creative Live! Ultra. I looked for about 2 months to make sure I got the right webcam, and I'm sure I did.
76 degree viewing area so you see most of the person and not just their chin. On a pentium 4 3Ghz with the right lighting it does achieve 30fps. And it was easy for me to find the
driver.

I started this thread over a month and a half ago. I finally got my webcams. Hearing all the difficulties installing webcams in linux, I was very hesitent. Finally a good enough deal came around and I got a pair of logitech quickcam communicators. After 2 days of trying, my fears were realized and I gave up with them on SUSE. Sorry Tsuroerusu

, I know you and most of the other forum readers would have fiqured it out but I give up.
So I tried it on my secondary box, Kubuntu, and it was plug-n-play!
I'm not a big fan of (k)ubuntu, but they earned my respect and relief in this instance.
