Back in 1998 a friend told me to try red hat I think we werte at 5.2 at that time, God havent we come a long way since . Over the years I mostly stuck with rpm distros suse 8.0 was my favorite for a long time .I had a box that ran suse 8.0 and was online for 2 years and 7 months without ever being rebooted, alas a hard drive crash put a zing in that. Anyway a few years back I tried Ubuntu and couldnt figure out what the fuss was about , then Gentoo honestly I love linux but I'd rather slice my nuts than do a gentoo install again. At this time the reason I was testing new distros was because suse 9.1 was so unstableI was so pissed Novell had just taken over and for some reason my install kept crashing on me.Then it was the hoary or warty ....the user base of ubuntu had grown so much the support was great and I was hooked ever since.
I live in new jersey and am a tech director for a school district here, and over the past 3 -4 years I have been bringing linux into the classrooms we now I am proud to say 50 desktops running various distros and about 8 linux servers .
In my home I have 4 kids 3 with their own pc's all linux my wife runs ubuntu on her laptop and my oldest son uses breezy still because his cedega runs good on it and he needs his wow fix.
Aidan my 10 year old is a pclinux os guy he plays wesnoth and enemy territory online alot. My phone is broadvoice the all you can eat plan for $ 20 per month
Aidan has a gp2x that he plays all his emulated roms on as well as movies and music.
My home has not booted a windows box in 5 years and we have survived and thrived. In my small business I have installed at least 20 people with linux instead of windows and have customized their desktops using crossover only if they have an app that can not be substituted.
I run dapper I love it from start to finish its a two hour install but that includes all my packages and codecs ect.

Anyway love your show thinks its a hoot.
