I was woundering the same thing. I created a symbolic link from my firefox plugins dir to my opera plugins dir and in opera when i do opera:plugins it shows all the plugins including mplayer-plugin but no worky.... Havent messed with it much after that. I saw a post somewhere about needing to have gecko-SDK installed but havent tryed it yet. Let me know what you find out.

is usually as simple as adding the wrapper plugin in the plugin folder. You should shoot the opera forum guys an email they respond in seconds. They have a special topic for Opera on Linux too.

They have also a Opera knowledge base that you might be keen to digg up.
