What is/are your opinions of this distro and the DSL ITX machines they offer for sale through their website?

Great live distro and even better for really old machines. Haven't bought a computer from them so I don't have an opinion on those.

I hear good things about it... I've been trying to install it on an old fujitsu b142 sub-notebook

Good distro for old hardware, but it's not that functional on new machines. DSL has been stuck on the 2.4 kernel since version 1.0, so much of the hardware on my laptop (WiFI, SATA drive) doesn't work.
