No Flash for 64 bit distros. Fedora Core x64 successfully loaded (first 64 bit distro I have got to load so far), used "Frog" to load extras. But no Flash, and I needs my Flash.

BTW. Fedora looks pretty good, but I see the slow thing that Linc talked about in his blog maybe (when you're opening a menu item there's a lag).

I'm downloading the 32 bit version anywho.

There's a few hacks to get Flash on a 64bit system. Here's a list:

1) nsplugin wrapper - It tries to shove x86 plugins into a x86-64 (or maybe other) browser. Results have varied a lot for me with it.

2) nsplugins32 - Judging by the source code I think it uses multilib (two lib directories- lib32 and lib64) and then puts the 32bit binaries of the programs needed to view the plugins in lib32. This works most of the time but has a few problems sometimes. (Sorry I could only find a Gentoo ebuild for it but if you look at the source code most of it is just BASH commands so you might be able to figure it out and I would help you if you needed it)

3) Use a 32bit browser - I run 32bit firefox and it is probably the easiest and most full proof way to get flash support, I am pretty sure this is possible on an RPM (or DEB) based distro. I can't seem to get a 32bit konqueror (I admit I haven't tried in a long time though) but 32bit firefox seems to work so right now if a site requires flash I go to (in Konqueror) Location > Open with Firefox

4) Gnash - See if this open source Flash replacement works, I haven't had much luck with it last time I tried it but it is always getting better.

5) Use WINE - Although using WINE to run a windows program is annoying it means that not only does it mean you can view flash but you can view Flash 8/9 content too.

Hope one of those solutions works for you.

BTW you could create a 32bit chroot but IMHO that is way overkill and takes up a lot of Harddrive space (if you are concerned about stuff like that).

Thanks a lot. That was a lot of work there and some great resources. I saw some posts on the web where people were just doing without. I've already downloaded the 32 bit Fedora and will probably try that later this week, but will give these a look.

This flash thing sure sucks, Using Ubuntu even it's kinda wonky in Firefox (Flash 7 that is) or maybe it's just sites that are tweaked for Windows. Just tried Konqueror at same site (no go), downloaded Opera (again) (no go). So I'll live with Firefox.

BTW, not to revive the Opera vs Firefox stuff again, but Man! that is a nice quick browser. If it would have handled Flash at this particular site for me, I'd
