A friend of mine just told me that he really likes this MMO games called Second Life, so I checked out Wikipedia's page on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Life

And then I was stunned, look under "Platform(s)"
It freakin' says: Linux (alpha)

I had to check out the game's webpage to see if it was true that a Linux version was in development, and indeed it is: http://secondlife.com/community/linux-alpha.php

For an MMO game this really does make sense, because they make money off the monthly fee people pay to play the game, and the more people being able to play it, the more money they make.

Yep, I believe Zack talked about it some on the last LAGER episode. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet though.

i tried it a couple months ago and it worked quite well. didnt care too much for it though since, 1) I'm not much of a gamer. 2)It's not much of a game, which makes me even less interested.

no sound for linux. combined with the fact that I had/have no idea what the game is about, i have to say my first try playing second life on linux was extremely eerie.

Back in January when Cory Ondrejka of Linden Labs was on LUGRadio, he said there would definitely be a Linux port.

Personally my first life is busy enough that I don't need a second.
