OK, I know this is preaching to the choir, but I'd like to remind everyone that today, October 3rd is the day against DRM. I was at the protest at the Apple store in NYC on Saturday and I met a few people there who encouraged me to spread the word.

I'm a bit torn about the DRM issue. I know that it is bad, and I would like to not support people who support DRM, but at this point, do I have a choice? Sure, I refuse to buy music off of iTunes or Napster, but if I do want to get a portable music player (I have an iPod), can I really escape supporting a company that supports DRM?

Of course you can. No DRMed music has touched my iAudio since I got it. I use AllOfMP3 (I'm a sucker for the high quality Vorbis support) but you can also still get Audio CDs, or use eMusic, Magnatunes, Audiolunchbox, or any other service. Right now there are still options but I'd imagine the more iTunes gets popular the less choice we have.
