Other than Dann's wife, and Kelly from the JakAttack, they've had Maria Winslow, Deborah Quilter, and Jessica Hall on the show.

Why should they be ashamed of themselves for not interviewing a woman(if that were indeed the case)?

Shouldn't you be ashamed of yourself for posting the exact same message to two different shows without knowing that at lease one of them had already interviewed someone from the group that you are interested in?

i swear it sounded like a different person to the extent of a different gender on that video to the ogg podcast. I guess its the americain accent *shrugs*

Now to be fair, I had been under the impression that Quinn was a woman as well. Not simply due to the voice from last nights interview.

I don't have the archives here at work but it seems to me that during the initial Compiz/Beryl split Ted Heagar over at Open Audio referred to Quinn as 'her' or 'she'. I may have misheard though.

Update: Nope, just checked the web pages and Ted clearly says 'she' in the post discussing the fork.

I was under the impression that Quinn was a woman as well, and not because of the name, but because of references I'd seen on the net. To be fair, Quinn is a "unisex" name - my second son is named Quinn, and people have asked several times how old "she" is.

Yeah, I'd often times seen Quinn referred to as she on many news sites. He doesn't exactly have a deep baritone voice to help dispel the mistaken gender attribution.

When I was over in Germany, and couldn't speak the language well at all, I met some Nebraskans at a bar who happened to be there on some sort of band tour. I was just happy to speak English to people, and not spend 10 minutes explaining in broken German why some joke I just said should have been funny. While I was at the bar—and perhaps the number of drinks I had was the reason it took me a while to realize this—one of the guys started hitting on me in the bathroom, which is pretty tacky now that I think about it. I left and started talking one of the girls, and since I wanted confirmation that it wasn't all in my head, I asked if he was gay. They told me he was and had just broken up with a guy and was on the rebound, and I said something like, "Ah.. okay... cause I'm not, and I think he has the impression that I am." The girl immediately turned to the other girls and said, "He's not gay!" Apparently her standards weren't too high and she had a thing for me. Of course, I brought that on myself by talking about Wagnerian opera pretty early in the conversation. Looking for something in common, I figured we all shared an appreciation for music, and that was the last concert I'd attended.

Sort of a tangential thing, but I didn't think being mistaken for being gay was bad, particularly when I was the one who brought up opera. If your voice is high pitched and your name is unisex, it's easy to see why people might make that mistake.
