I just finished listening to #175. Good show. I just want to comment that the music Pat played at the end was awesome. That reminded me so much of the original Uriah Heep album that I thought I was back in the 70's. Miracle that the fog in my mind momentarily cleared. Those were the days.

I don't know if you were in the IRC chat during the show, but we were talking about how they sounded like Deep Purple and some other bands. yeah they were pretty good.

Since you guys like the music so much I'll share it with you. Magnatune says you can share your purchases with 2 friends so I'll PM you a link so you can download it. I'll leave it up on the server until I go to bed tonight.
Enjoy!

ah, early Uriah Heep, boy doe they bring back memories. They released an album in the early 90's that was not too bad - Ragiing Silence. But I liked their older stuff better. I'm gonna have to get me some uriah heap.
My good friend used to call them uriah heep of shit, though. He was a springsteen fan. Not that springsteen is bad; but he did no appreciated the subtle sound of uriah heap.

mmmm, uriah heep's "demons and wizards" \m/
That album might not take me back to the 70's lol, but it does take me back to my early teens when I "discovered" it.

Now that I remember UH I am gonna have to look for some CD's. All I have is vinyl and it's hard to get it to my pod. I just looked at the first album. Silver and black with the creature on it. I miss album covers. I still remember bein' in my beetle listening to DOA on the eight track.

No DOA was a UH song. Was one that made the pop radio and was played around here every other minute.

It would be nice if someone actually mentioned the name of the band in this thread...

That would be "Mandrake Root", for the uninitiated. I checked out some of their other offerings via Magnatune...pretty impressive.

Ouch. That's a little too Queensryche for me.
