IMAP Server

Just listening to the last show, and I thought I'd mention how much I love running my own IMAP server. Mine's very simple, just Fetchmail  Procmail  Spamassassin  Dovecot over IMAPS. Works well, unless Cox loses my connection or the power goes out at my place. For some reason my server doesn't restart after an outage. Very annoying. It's an IBM, too, and wouldn't have expected that.

Don't know how many people use Dovecot, but it seems to have a similar ideology to postfix, secure and fast. I do wish I had kept track of everything I've configured as Linc (I think?) mentioned. I seem to remember that it took me a little time to learn dovecot, but I'd fiddled with procmail before, and was relatively familiar with it. I really need to set up a personal wiki to keep track of all that stuff. I do back up the /etc directory from time to time, though it doesn't change that often.

Oh yeah, I became behind the times when I took a vacation with my wife earlier, and I missed Dann mentioning my camera problem on the show. I appreciate that, man. I'm not sure my little problem deserved such attention, since I was able to work around it, and it was more a matter of my irritation at my own ignorance. I guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease, though. Sorry I moaned about that for so long.
