Hi Everyone,
I have a quick question. Will the deployment of WPF (
http://wpf.netfx3.com/) force Flash to go Open Source? - OR - Will Flash ever go Open Source?
Any thoughts/opinions welcome.
Thanks
Tom

That would be nice. Is WPF going to be cross platform or strictly limited to IE on Windows? If the latter, I find it unlikely that the majority of web developers would adopt the technology.
Is that page falling apart in your browser? It's a mess on my FF under arch.

It looks kind of broken under Firefox 2.0. However, SeaMonkey, Opera, and Konqueror work fine. Go figure.

It still amazes me. It seems like every major vendor eventually has to compete against Microsoft, and they always delay the inevitable requirement to do so, which is to go open source.

I think Adobe is starting to see the advantages to being open since they just/are about to make PDF an ISO standard. Hopefully they will realize this needs to happen with Flash as well.

that site works fine under iceweasel 2.001 .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Pr ... Foundation
that page describes it as a windows only format.
Something like SVG is better.
As will said on the show, open source software can work on anything besides a intel x86 based system.
